The story on everyone’s lips at the moment is the tragic passing of David Bowie. He was a true, alternative inspiration to David bowiemillions and it has shaken the world to its core.

After a battle with cancer that he braved for 18 months, David Bowie tragically passed away on Sunday 10th January. He died peacefully in the company of his family. He was an artist like no other, iconic for all of his endeavours be they vocal, instrumental or theatrical. Who Was David Bowie?

Born David Robert Jones in the South of London, he worked his way into the charts with his single “Space Oddity” in 1969. Three years later he shot back onto the music scene with his new glam rock alter ego Ziggy Stardust. His innovative approach to music and his sheer presence brought him huge audiences and his single “Starman” is a household classic to this day. 1n 1975 he found success in America too with his number one single “Fame” and his album “Young Americans”. While he continued releasing chart hits until days before his passing, he also has a sporadic acting career. His best known role was as Jareth the goblin king from Labyrinth, who could forget that outfit and that hair?

We may have lost a legend, but take this as an opportunity to remember his life! He gave us so much for so many years, with a career spanning six decades.
