Sport Relief

In the last 30 years Comic Relief have raised over £1 billion with various annual and biannual events and now is your chance to do your part for this amazing charity. Sainsbury’s will be hosting “The Sport Relief Games” this month with a whole host of events for you to get involved with us, no matter how sporty you are! If you’re near one of the UK’s largest cities you can join in with the Flagship Games where you can take part in any of the games all in one place! For the locals, there will be plenty on offer in Bournemouth and Poole so be sure to check out the listings and sign up!

TV talent and comedienne Jo Brand has been training up for a “Hell of a Walk” in aid of Sport Relief taking her coast to coast. Starting in Hull, Jo will be trekking across harsh terrain through Thorne, Doncaster, Harlington and Through the Peek District. The last leg of her journey will see her through Manchester and Warrington before a final push to Liverpool’s Royal Liver Building. Brand will complete this 150 mile journey over the space of just 1 week to raise life changing funds and awareness for mental illness. She’s an inspiration!

Get Involved!

If you’re not the athletic type, don’t let that stop you getting involved! Just because its sports relief doesn’t mean you have to get your running shoes on. You can be inventive as you like with your fundraising. Why not have a healthy bake sale or make biscuits to represent different sports? Shopping should be classed as a sport too so why not get your wallets ready and pick up some fantastic Sport Relief merchandise!

If you are taking part in one of the local Sport Relief events, don’t forget to pop into your nearest Hollywood branch for your red face paints or even a funny costume to help you build your sponsorship!
