Celebrate our Patron Saint in style this April with the Poole St George's Day Festival! Fresh on the scene for 2016, this will be a family festival worth talking about, so for a weekend of fun, head down to Poole on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th.

St George's Day

As I’m sure you know, St George is England’s Patron Saint who is said to have slain a dragon and saved a princess. He is the name sake of our country’s flag and remembered each year when people across Britain fly it in his honour. Unfortunately over the years, St George's Day celebrations have become few and far between. Have no fear as Immense Events LTD is here to save the day!

Poole will be playing host to a weekend of epic proportions as we celebrate all things English. There will be proper English grub like fish and chips, hog roast and even local vegetarian cuisine. To wash it all down there will be plenty of local ale and cider and even a double decker bus bar! Purbeck Ice Cream will also be on hand to provide delicious desserts.

Now that your bellies are full, let’s get the music going! The best tribute acts in the south will be performing over the weekend with the likes of Oasish (Oasis), Flash (Queen) and The Bowie Experience (David Bowie) gracing the stage. We will also see
local bands like Black Sheep and even Si Genero, as seen on The Voice! If that wasn’t enough, there will be Morris dancing, Medieval re-enactments and falconry displays too.

If the kiddies are getting restless then get them over to watch the Punch and Judy show or get their faces painted, by the talented Head Turners ladies. There will also be fancy dress competitions for both the kids and the adults (big kids) so don’t forget to head down dressed to the nines! If you’re in need of some fantastic costumes, don’t forget that Hollywood has a store right in the heart of Poole’s Dolphin Centre.
