Swanage Regatta and Carnival 2016
For one whole week the picturesque seaside town of Swanage will be transformed for the Swanage Regatta and Carnival! There will be something to do for all ages every day so make the most of it and head down from the 30th July to the 6th August!
The sun is shining so why not try your hand at some sporting events? Prizes will be on offer for all age groups throughout the week, so show them what you’ve got! There will be plenty on offer including fun runs, tennis, sailing, darts and even fishing. Sadly there will be no half marathon this year due to safety concerns and road closures,
This year’s carnival procession will have a ‘Sitcom’ theme so expect to see all of your favourite TV characters old and new! As always it will take place on the Sunday 31st July at 3pm and will begin at Rabling Road, coming full circle back to that point. The parade travels a huge 2 mile stretch so you are sure to find a spot to watch from.
Fun for All Ages
Swanage Regatta and Carnival has plenty for everyone to enjoy whether you’re young or just young at heart! Adults can enjoy a pub crawl with a difference as it will all be done in wheelbarrows! Teams of two don fancy dress and race around the town stopping in each pub to grab a pint before wheeling off to the next destination. If that seems like too much hard work the why not challenge yourself to the yard of ale on the Wednesday? For a more family day out you can enter the sandcastle competition with some impressive sculptures seen over the years. You can also enjoy the Scuff’s Dog Show and bingo!
If you’re taking part in this year’s carnival procession then don’t forget to check out the great range of costumes and accessories that Hollywood Fancy Dress has to offer! Transform into your favourite British sitcom heroes from Mrs Brown’s Boys, Dad’s Army, Keeping Up Appearances, The Vicar of Dibley or even Only Fools and Horses.
