Weymouth Carnival 2016!
It’s the Summer Holidays and you need to keep the kids entertained so head on down and enjoy Weymouth Carnival on Tuesday 16th and Wednesday 17th August. Weymouth Carnival has been running for over 50 years now, raising money charity and helping the local community. It is run year after year by a dedicated team of unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly to bring you the best family fun. Christchurch Carnival 2016
Come and see your quaint local quay side town explode to life from Saturday 13th to Sunday 14th August for Christchurch Carnival! Christchurch Carnival The Christchurch Carnival has now been running for over 100 years and we have local residents and volunteers to thank for that. The entire weekend is arranged and run by willing volunteers who spend months putting together the best local event for the summer. Of course, it would all be for nothing without the support of the local community so do your bit and take the family down to see what they have for you to enjoy this year! Every year local charities receive donations from the money raised by Christchurch Carnival so that the funds go back in to the local community. This year’s beneficiaries will be ................ Swanage Regatta and Carnival 2016
For one whole week the picturesque seaside town of Swanage will be transformed for the Swanage Regatta and Carnival! There will be something to do for all ages every day so make the most of it and head down from the 30th July to the 6th August! Swanage Regatta The sun is shining so why not try your hand at some sporting events? Prizes will be on offer for all age groups throughout the week, so show them what you’ve got! There will be plenty on offer including fun runs, tennis, sailing, darts and even fishing. Sadly there will be no half marathon this year due to safety concerns and road closures, Swanage Carnival This year’s carnival procession will have a ‘Sitcom’ theme so expect to see all of your favourite TV characters old and new! As always it will take place on the Sunday 31st July at 3pm and will begin at Rabling Road, coming full circle back to that point. Bourne Free Does Rio!
Bourne Free is Bournemouth’s very own LGBT pride event that takes place annually in the heart of the town for everyone to enjoy! This year the team have come up with the perfect theme, Rio Carnival! In light of the recent attacks in Orlando, we need to come together now more than ever to support our LGBT community and show tolerance, understanding and love for everyone. Stand together, stand strong and stand free! Bourne Free In 2004 Bourne Free was created when news spread that an organisation was coming to Bournemouth to preach that homosexuality is wrong. The gay community banded together to stand against them and celebrate their diversity and to hold Bournemouth’s first gay Pride march. Since then the event has flourished and grown into a huge three day party to bring everyone in the community together. Bourne Free is now a registered charity run by trustees and volunteers, as well as contributors from the LGBT community and local businesses. Winton Carnival Is Back For 2016!
Last year marked the 10th year of Winton Carnival and the bar was well and truly raised with a stunning turn out! 2016 has a lot to live up to, but we recon we can put on an even better show this year. Winton Carnival Winton Carnival has always been a non-profit event run by volunteers from the local community and we can certainly say that they have done us proud for the last 10 years. Over 7,000 people join in the fun at Winton carnival so make sure you’re one of them. Totton Carnival 2016!
On Saturday 18th June everyone will be flocking to watch Totton Carnival. It will be a day full of fun and laughter as the streets come to life! Totton Carnival It is a great day out for all the friends and family, a giant parade with an amazing fun fair waiting for you on the other side! It all sounds so exciting! Every year the theme changes and this year the theme is ‘Party on Down’ so you’re in for a treat! You will be joined by party animals, disco diva’s, punk rockers and so much more. The parade is made up from a whole range of different participants, such as floats, dancers, bikers and even the marching band who put on a jolly good show. It’s defiantly something you don’t want to miss. Every year the event is held by the Totton Carnival Committee to fundraise for local charities. Totton And Eling Carnival 2015
Totton goes around the world! This year’s Totton and Eling carnival is going to be a very colourful display with participants representing countries and cultures from all across the globe! Each year Totton Carnival Committee along with local volunteers put on a spectacular show for their community and this year will certainly be no different. On Saturday 20th June the people of Totton and Eling will be treated to a fantastic array of parade floats all dressed up in an “Around the World” theme. Expect some very extravagant costumes for this one! What To Expect at Totton? The parade will kick off at 4pm from Calmore industrial estate, heading down Salisbury Road and then into the Eling recreation grounds. As always the SO16 Troopers and Nerdageddon team will be joining the fun, we can’t wait to see if they will tie in the parade theme! Waiting at the end of the parade will be a variety of stalls selling food and other interesting nick nacks. Better still there will be a fun fair full of exciting rides that all the family can enjoy, it will be open from 2pm on the day so you can even go for a quick spin before the parade starts!
