Weymouth Carnival 2016!
Weymouth Carnival has been running for over 50 years now, raising money charity and helping the local community. It is run year after year by a dedicated team of unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly to bring you the best family fun. Residents and visitors gather in flocks to enjoy all that Weymouth has to offer. This will be the first time ever that the carnival will span over two days so expect twice the excitement this year!
Tuesday’s fun will kick off from 10am with a whole range of fun activities for all of the family The evening will see Weymouth beachfront lit up with a stunning torchlight procession for the public to join in with. Starting at 8pm the parade will span the full length of the beach so will certainly be a sight to behold. £1 from each purchase of a torch will go towards Weldmar Hospice Trust, so make sure to order yours and help out this fantastic charity.
Wednesday is Parade day! The streets will be lined with excited on lookers as a whole host of bright and colourful floats and groups bring smiles to the local community. For the last two years the parade has been started by the Weymouth and Portland Bikers who get the crowd all revved up and this year will be no exception. Not only is there a parade, you will also be treated to a display from The Red Arrows!
