No really, you should go! Def Con 5 is everything your inner Star Wars nerd could want in a convention and you get to enjoy it over a whole weekend on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th October! Def Con 5 Nerdageddon is the biggest name in the south when it comes to movie and comic themed events. Don’t be fooled by the name, Def Con 5 will be just as extreme as the 4 before it were! As always, the fun won’t just be Star Wars related. There will be all kinds of sci-fi fun and games to enjoy including visits from a trio of Red Dwarf actors Norman Lovett, Chris Barrie and our personal favourite; Robert Llewellyn (You may also remember him as the best host of Scrapheap Challenge ever)! Ok, so let’s talk about Suicide Squad... It may not have received glowing reviews from all of the critics, but that hasn’t stopped people flocking in their thousands to catch a glimpse of DC’s best bad guys! The Stars We’ve known the stars of this movie for a long time now and marketing weren’t shy with the teasers and clips. Margot Robbie was the perfect blend of sexy and kooky for her role as Harley Quinn. It will definitely be one of the most iconic roles of her career and we hope to see more of her in upcoming DC movies! Will Smith will always be a great action hero and Suicide Squad proves he’s still got it. He’s stern, strong and the perfect person to play Dead Shot. He also delivers one of the best comedy lines of the movie when referring to the Doomsday machine as a “swirling ring of trash”. Apart from little snippet’s and stills, we didn’t get to see too much of Jared Leto’s Joker. He definitely made this role his own with sarcasm and psychosis that rivals Jack Nicholson’s rendition. Heath Ledger did leave some very big shoes to fill and we’re not sold that Leto was the man to do it. Continue reading →

We were all kids once and it can be hard growing up different. These girls may have super powers, but honing your skills is always important, that’s why they go to Super Hero High! Just like us, the Superhero Girls aren’t perfect, Supergirl is clumsy, Poison Ivy is shy and Harley Quinn is just downright unpredictable! We’re still riding on the buzz of Star Wars “The Force Unleashed” and now we’re excitedly anticipating Rogue One: A Star Wars Story! With all the hype, this is sure to be the biggest May the 4th yet! May The 4th This is a date in the diary of every Star Wars fan across the globe. While Star Wars Day isn’t considered an official holiday it is celebrated worldwide by the adoring fans of the Star Wars films. The date was an obvious choice due to the pun of “May the force be with you”. Not only the 4th, but the 5th of May became part of the celebration with “Revenge of the 5th” a play on words of the Star Wars movie “Revenge of the Sith”. May is special for many reasons for die hard Star Wars fans as it is also George Lucas’ birthday on May 14th and also because all of the original 6 live action films were released in may. Why Lucas Film did not pioneer Star Wars Day, they were certainly happy to embrace it and join their fans in celebrating it each year. In late 2012 Disney bought Lucas Film, including the rights to Star Wars and since has held Star Wars themed events at their parks during the month of May. After the huge success of The Force Unleashed we can all breathe easy that the franchise is in good hands. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this household name in Sci-Fi greatness. Bournemouth’s Easter panto is The Wizard of Oz! From 2nd April you’ll be whisked off to a magical land with Dorothy and her dog Toto. With a star studded cast and plenty of sing-a-longs it will a panto that the whole family can enjoy! Wizard of Oz Bournemouth Pavilion will spring to life this Easter with a professional production from Enchanted Entertainment. Watch in awe as L. Frank Baum’s classic tale, The Wizard of Oz is brought to life on stage on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd April. The star studded cast includes Dani Harmer from Tracey Beaker as Dorothy and comedy legend Bobby Davro playing the Scarecrow.
