Pirates Ahoy, Stand Out with the Perfect Pirate Fancy Dress. Poole people get ready for a summer of Pirates.

Poole in Dorset is home to the famous pirate Harry Paye. In the 1400s, Poole's favorite privateer, Harry Paye intercepted hundreds of French and Spanish ships to avenge an attack on his hometown. He returned with a legendary haul of gold, exotic fruits, and 30,000 gallons of red wine for the townsfolk. For 100 years, the Pirates of Poole have kept his spirit alive by turning this historic tale into the town's biggest charity fundraiser.

The highlight of the events is the Pirate parade along Poole Quay, with this year being on Saturday 20th June. This year they celebrate 100 years of this charitable organisation.
