Celebrate St Patrick's Day 2025 In Style
I’m sure you have all heard of St. Patrick and his struggle with the demon Caorthannach who eventually turned into a dragon during a long fight with the saint. So we will talk about the festivities of St. Patrick’s Day.
St Patrick’s Day is the day where we all dress up in green (this was originally blue, but that’s another story) and drink Guinness for the day. If we are celebrating properly, we need to dress in green with red hair, while wearing a four leafed shamrock. This dress is not traditionally Irish but shows a connection with Ireland, the Emerald isle.
In Ireland during the festival, the streets of every town and city from Dublin to Cork are filled with parades of music, comedy, floats and Irish pride.
But not all celebrations are about the drinking. In Armagh, the place St. Patrick founded his first church, the festivities focus more on Patrick as a person and his history of spreading Christianity. Celebrations here are focused on his teachings and the introduction of Christianity to the Emerald Isle. While in Killarney you would be treated to candle light concerts, boat tours of the city, story tellers and a huge parade of everything Irish.
In England however, it’s all about the drinking. Pubs and venues put on live acts to encourage drinkers, but the day is all about drinking with Irish pride.
How do you intend to celebrate this year? However you choose to show your pride for Ireland, make sure you dress in green and don’t forget you shamrock, then your good to drink your body weight in Guinness!
