Enid Blyton Inspired Costumes

One of Britain's greatest loved children's author is Enid Blyton. From a young age, her life events inspired many of the adventures inside her books and as they have passed through generation. All of her characters are still remembered with books including noddy in toy land and the famous five.

The Costumes

The Famous Five is one of Blyton's most memorable series of books. First published over 70 years ago. The books followed the adventures and mishaps of a group of children, Julian, Dick, Anne and Georgina and their loyal dog Timmy. This brand new children's costume is based on the character Anne, and includes a cute blue and red dress, stripy tights and a dainty headband.

Co-written with famous British author, Pamela Cox. St. Clare's is another series of nine books Blyton is celebrated for. Blyton and Cox both went to boarding schools as girls and it is thought that the authors got a lot of their inspiration for St. Clare's from their childhood. Patricia "Pat" and Isabel O'Sullivan are in their first year of St. Clare's Boarding School and do not want to go. Causing havoc and mischief wherever they go. The teachers definitely have their hands full with these twins. This St. Clare's uniform is based on what the uniform would have looked like, complete with purple jumper, mock shirt and tie.

Enid Blyton must have learned a lot from her boarding school years. Her third series of books were also created around the idea of school. Malory Towers wanted to turn young girls into good strong women that could lead the world. Darrell Rivers was one of those girls. Shy and hard working, the books follow Darrell through her years at Malory Towers as she faces the troubles many students still face today. This Deluxe Malory Towers costume comes with brown blazer style jacket, matching skirt, mock t shirt, hat and briefcase, complete with the Malory Towers logo.
