Star Wars Day is here! That time of year is upon us, so dust off that film collection and invite your friends over for the best event of the year.

The tradition has been created since May 4^th 2011. Every year is the spectacle that is Star wars Day. On this day, it’s required that everyone dresses up as their favourite character from the franchise and binge watches the films.

Following Star Wars Day, is the Revenge of the Fifth May 5^th and 6^th. These days encourage all Star wars Fans to embrace the dark side of the force, dressing up as members of the Sith.

The Star wars franchise has captured the attention of popular culture since it’s release in 1977. Maggie Thatcher being told in 1979 following her election on May the 3^rd, “may the force be with you Maggie”. The same praise being used at the UK Parliament defence debate on May 4^th 1994. Public figures have publicly celebrated May 4^th such as Boris Johnson, raising the profile of the Star Wars Days.
