October is not all about ghosts and ghouls, also the month of the German festival Oktoberfest. Brits being Brits have embraced Oktoberfest with various festival weekends and themed nights. So grab your Lederhosen and party!

This is an annual festival in Munich, Germany, held over a two-week period and ending on the first Sunday in October. The festival originated on October 12, 1810, in celebration of the marriage of the crown prince of Bavaria, who later became King Louis I, to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen. This then became an annual event and soon grow to what we see today. There are events all over the world with beer drinking being the main part of the festivities.
