Weymouth Carnival has been running for over 50 years now, raising money charity and helping the local community. It is run year after year by a dedicated team of unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly to bring you the best family fun. Residents and visitors gather in flocks to enjoy all that Weymouth has to offer. This will be the first time ever that the carnival will span over two days so expect twice the excitement this year! Christchurch Carnival The Christchurch Carnival has now been running for over 100 years and we have local residents and volunteers to thank for that. The entire weekend is arranged and run by willing volunteers who spend months putting together the best local event for the summer. Of course, it would all be for nothing without the support of the local community so do your bit and take the family down to see what they have for you to enjoy this year! Every year local charities receive donations from the money raised by Christchurch Carnival so that the funds go back in to the local community. This year’s beneficiaries will be ................     Swanage Regatta and Carnival 2016
    For one whole week the picturesque seaside town of Swanage will be transformed for the Swanage Regatta and Carnival! There will be something to do for all ages every day so make the most of it and head down from the 30th July to the 6th August! Swanage Regatta The sun is shining so why not try your hand at some sporting events? Prizes will be on offer for all age groups throughout the week, so show them what you’ve got! There will be plenty on offer including fun runs, tennis, sailing, darts and even fishing. Sadly there will be no half marathon this year due to safety concerns and road closures, Swanage Carnival This year’s carnival procession will have a ‘Sitcom’ theme so expect to see all of your favourite TV characters old and new! As always it will take place on the Sunday 31st July at 3pm and will begin at Rabling Road, coming full circle back to that point.     Totton CarnivalOn Saturday 18th June everyone will be flocking to watch Totton Carnival. It will be a day full of fun and laughter as the streets come to life! Totton Carnival It is a great day out for all the friends and family, a giant parade with an amazing fun fair waiting for you on the other side! It all sounds so exciting! Every year the theme changes and this year the theme is ‘Party on Down’ so you’re in for a treat! You will be joined by party animals, disco diva’s, punk rockers and so much more. The parade is made up from a whole range of different participants, such as floats, dancers, bikers and even the marching band who put on a jolly good show. It’s defiantly something you don’t want to miss. Every year the event is held by the Totton Carnival Committee to fundraise for local charities.     The London 7’s is an annual rugby sevens tournament which is going to be held at Twickenham on the 21st -22nd May 2016, London. The Game is popular at all levels with amateur and club tournaments throughout the summer months. Rugby sevens (seven-a-side) is one of the most well distributed forms of rugby and continents such as Africa, Asia, Europe and America have taken a particular shine to the sport. The 2015-16 seasons kicked off in Dubai on 4th-5th December 2015 and will visit 5 new destinations, Cape Town, Vancouver, Singapore and Paris. London will be the last major tournament for many of the nations before they Travel to Rio to compete at 2016 Olympic Games. In 2009 England made a momentous comeback in front of 35,000 fans beating New Zealand with a score in the final second of overtime. Come on England! Twickenham Stadium Twickenham is a stadium in Twickenham, south west London, England. It is primarily a venue for rugby union and hosts England's home test matches, You wouldn’t think that this well-known stadium started off as a cabbage patch but that's exactly what it was before the RFU (Rugby Football Union) purchased the land for just over £5,500 in 1907.     Well the chocolate eggs were on the supermarket shelves before we even made it to New Years, so we’ve had plenty of time to prepare for Easter week. As with most things we feel that Easter is losing its magic, so we’re on a mission to bring it back! This year we want to see more people making an effort! It’s a celebration of new life and shaking off the winter blues ready for a fresh start in Spring. Flowers are blooming again and who knows, the sun might even make an appearance! From Good Friday on the 25th March to Easter Monday on the 28th March, spread hope, joy and love! Easter Tradition With a whole host of religions and belief systems flooding into the UK we appreciate that some of the traditions of Easter have been diluted, but that doesn’t mean we should drop it all together. For Christians, it is a celebration of Jesus’ resurrection after he was put to death for our sins. Schools and churches will often hold plays and Bible readings or even parades especially on Easter Sunday.     So who has seen the Deadpool movie in the cinema over Valentine’s weekend? I know I did and I LOVED it! If you want to Deadpoolsee a film that will have you crying with laughter the whole way through then buy your tickets now. It will be showing in all good cinemas so there’s no excuse to miss it! Deadpool We’ve seen some glimpses of Deadpool here and there in the X-Men movies and it was about time his story was told. And boy did they give it to you straight! It’s R-Rated, there’s gore and the comical timing will have you howling. What more could you ask for from the most controversial hero/anti-hero in the Marvel universe? Ryan Reynolds had been waiting for 11 years to make this movie and his enthusiasm certainly shines through. The advertising alone has been a huge hit with the pubic with funny Valentines style images with Deadpool sprawled on a fur rug in front of an open fire and making hearts with his hands.
