The best family event of the summer is back for the 8th year running and we couldn’t be more excited! Bournemouth Air Festival brings you a long weekend of the best air, land and sea displays in the country from Thursday 18th to Sunday 21st August. Bournemouth Air Festival Earlier this year, in May, Bournemouth Air Festival was awarded gold by Visit England and is officially the best tourism event in the whole country! If that wasn’t enough to draw you in then just check out what they have to offer you in 2016! The Red Arrows have been confirmed for all 4 days of the festival once again! They are a firm family favourite year in, year out, so it’s only right to have them headline Bournemouth Air festival. The RN Black Cats helicopter display team will also be performing over the weekend along with the Tigers Freefall Parachute Display Team and the mighty RAF Typhoon. New for 2016, the Swiss Air Force Super Puma Display Team will also be joining us! While May the 4th isn’t considered an official holiday it is celebrated worldwide by the adoring fans of the Star Wars films. The date was an obvious choice due to the pun of “May the force be with you”. Not only the 4th, but the 5th of May became part of the celebration with “Revenge of the 5th” a play on words of the Star Wars movie “Revenge of the Sith”. BBC’s Children In Need is an annual charity event designed to help children nationwide. Money donated by volunteers and fundraisers goes towards funding activities, events and schemes for disabled children and disadvantaged young people. Most people know BBC Children In Need by the telethon shown on BBC One each November. This year it will be broadcasted live from Albert Square, famously the set of hit British soap Eastenders. Sir Terry Wogan will be hosting as he has been since the first televised appeal in 1980 and will of course be joined by everyone’s favourite bear, Pudsey! Pudsey has been the poster child for Children In Need since 1985 when first created by BBC graphic designer Joanna Ball.
